Saving the life of a forty-year-old by removing a bleeding tumor from the brain ventricles at Al-Mouwasat Hospital
The neurosurgery team saved the life of a patient in his forties who was in a deep coma due to a bleeding tumor in the brain ventricles. The patient was transferred from another hospital to the emergency department at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Medina while in a deep coma. The medical team immediately dealt with his critical condition, treated the breathing and pressure disorders, and performed the necessary radiological examinations to diagnose the cause of the coma. The examination and scans showed the presence of a relatively large bleeding tumor in the brain ventricles. The patient was then transferred to the intensive care unit, where he was treated in several stages to control his condition and remove the tumor.
In the first stage, Dr. Magdy Al-Hawary, a consultant in neurosurgery, spine, and work team, used catheterization technology to drain the accumulated bleeding in the brain ventricles and treat the hydrocephalus (swelling and enlargement of the brain ventricles). In the second stage, Dr. Al-Hawary completely removed the tumor through advanced microscopic surgery. Thanks to God and His blessings, the operation was successful, and the patient was placed under observation in the intensive care unit until he fully regained consciousness, his condition improved, and he left the hospital to resume his normal life.
Brain ventricle tumor surgeries are advanced operations that require techniques based on microscopic devices and precise navigational exploration devices inside the brain, as well as high and accurate human experience to use these techniques to deal with such cases. This is in line with Al-Mouwasat Medical Services Company's vision of attracting precise medical competencies and specialties while providing the latest medical technologies and equipment
