Obstetrics is the branch of medicine that deals with the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth and the recuperative period following delivery. An obstetrician is a doctor who specializes in this field and is responsible for monitoring your health and your developing baby's health during pregnancy and performing routine ultrasounds, measurements, and tests.

My role as your obstetrician further includes checking for health conditions that could cause problems during your pregnancy or affect your baby's health, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, infections, and chromosomal abnormalities.

During your follow up, clinic visits I would also be able to advise you about diet, exercise, medications, and staying healthy and help you cope with morning sickness, back and leg pain, heartburn, and other common pregnancy complaints and prepare you thoroughly for the process of going into labor and tell you what to expect when giving birth and answer any questions you might have prior to the long awaited day of "Labor and delivery".
