Saving the life of a seventy-year-old patient suffering from acute coronary artery embolism
The emergency department at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Jubail Industrial City received a 75-year-old patient suffering from severe chest pain
The emergency department medical team examined the patient and performed an ECG, which showed the presence of an acute clot in the arteries of the heart, and he had stiffness in all the arteries of the body and severe weakness in the heart muscle with a history of illness with a previous stroke.
Immediately, the patient was transferred to the cardiac catheterization department under the supervision of Dr. Nayef Al-Asiri, a consultant interventional cardiac catheter, and his assisting team, where an emergency catheterization was performed for him in a high-risk and complex operation using the impella technique through the femoral artery.
Thanks to God and his success, the coronary arteries of the heart were repaired and stents were installed in the left main, anterior and reflex coronary artery. The operation was completed in record time, without anesthesia and without complications. The catheter was successfully closed by the Manta device, and the patient was discharged from the hospital to practice his life normally without any complications.
It is worth noting that this type of high-risk operation is only performed in advanced heart centers, and this type of operation is considered the most advanced in response to emergency cases and is in line with the vision of Al-Mouwasat Health Services Company in attracting competencies and accurate medical specializations while providing the latest technologies and medical equipment.
