Saudi Aramco

Saudi Aramco has approximately 300,000 beneficiaries and it has taken a strategic decision to transfer healthcare responsibility to the private sector. Al-Mouwasat Hospital - Dammam has been one of the preferred healthcare facilities for Saudi Aramco's employees and their dependents. As a result, Saudi Aramco has entered into a number of contracts with Al-Mouwasat. The first contract Saudi Aramco awarded to the Company commenced from January 1996 for a period of three years, which was later extended for 2 years and three months. The second contract commenced from April 2001 for a period of 5 years with provision for extension for another two years. The contract is classified into three major categories as follows:

  • Per Capita Services: General service contract for registered beneficiaries;
  • Separately Priced Service: Unique services not included in the above contract; and
  • Services for Non-Registered Beneficiaries. For employees registered with other healthcare providers.

Saudi Aramco conducts regular evaluations of the hospital, personnel, and operations to ensure compliance with conditions of the contract. In order to comply with strict Saudi Aramco requirements, Al-Mouwasat has developed and managed each of the new divisions, such as haemodialysis and catheterization laboratories and the cardiac care unit, as per the standards required by Saudi Aramco.
