The mission of Joint Commission International is to continuously improve the safety and quality of care in the international community through the provision of education and consultation services and international accreditation.

Recently, Al-Mouwasat commenced a process to obtain certification from the Joint Commission International ("JCI") for its hospitals. The relevant procedures started for Al-Mouwasat hospital in Dammam, and in December 2006 the final requirements were completed and all pre-requisites were met.
